The program allows you to browse text and tafsir from the Quran, and translations are also included for easy understanding. There are an infinite number of purposes that this program can serve, but the central, underlying purpose is to help all users better understand the text.
Explore the Quran in a simple, hierarchical layout that makes it easy to browse by chapter, part, or even subject. An advanced searching tool is also included so you can pinpoint any part of the Quran with ease.
From an aesthetic standpoint, the app itself is dated in appearance and the interface can potentially confuse new users with ambiguous icons and unlabeled functions. In fact, the developer no longer updates Al Quran Explorer, but with compatibility features in newer versions of Windows, it's still possible to use this handy, little app.
